It started with a question we still have not fully answered. How do you make something feel like nothing else on the shelf, without making it feel like only certain people are allowed to buy it? We wanted luxury to feel different, not distant.
One of us spent years inside perfume companies, watching the word luxury get used as an excuse to charge more for less. One spends his nights behind the decks. One cannot leave a thing alone until the smallest detail is right. Three very different people, with one thing in common: detail.
Every scent starts with us. Then we hand the brief to Robertet, one of the most respected fragrance houses in the world, and they turn instinct into formula. We guide it. They build it. Then it comes home, mixed, filled and labelled by hand in England, in runs of 100.
We call it perfume because we are English, and that is what it is.
The concrete cap, the wooden box, the linen bag. None of it is made to look expensive. It is made to be used every day and still feel exactly right a year from now. We do not put our names on the bottle. We would rather the perfume did the talking.
